Sales and Service Consultant @ Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont

REMOTE WORK: Blue Cross is a hybrid workplace where employees within driving distance of our Berlin, VT office work in the office on Wednesdays with flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week. This role will require the employee to be onsite at least three days a week beginning in August or early September. During our Open Enrollment period (November 1st to January 15th), the expectation will be extended hours Monday-Friday as well as a Saturday morning once a month. Anything over 40 hours is considered overtime.
Sales and Service Consultant Responsibilities:
• Provide consultative sales advice and service to customers and brokers telephonically and occasionally in-person for Qualified Health Plans (QHP), Medicare Supplemental, Medicare Part D (PDP), and Medicare Advantage
• Meet the assigned sales goals for these markets, using direct marketing and outreach to prospective customers.
• Act as a liaison between Blue Cross VT and the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) to assist members with enrollment, billing, or data issues.
• Attend external events to promote & sell our qualified health plans and individual Medicare products.
• Work with groups, brokers, and individuals to educate them on potential subsidies for individual’s customers; facilitate decision making on the advantages and disadvantages of group vs individual coverage.
• Manage the team’s emails, voicemails, and CRM queues.
Sales and Service Consultant Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years’ experience required in Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or health insurance sales, customer service, marketing or marketing related duties.
• Valid Vermont driver’s license with good driving record. Willingness to travel throughout Vermont as necessary.
• Current Vermont Producer’s license for Accident and Health required within 3 months of hire into the role. Must maintain license by completing CEUs.
