Ivy Computer continues to be named one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Vermont and we are looking for Programming Interns for the coming Winter/Spring season. The exact dates are to be determined, but we are looking at January through March. Whether you are newer to programming and interested in an internship or you have several years of experience, we are interested in hearing from you!

We are looking for individuals who are interested in setting down roots in Central Vermont. Our internships are scheduled for an agreed-upon timeframe (usually 2-4 months). This is not a coffee-fetching internship. We will teach you the way that Ivy programs and give you a chance to show your potential and rise to our expectations. Ideally, we won’t just work together for a few months. Interns who demonstrate the skills, strengths, and abilities we are looking for will be offered a full-time position at Ivy.

We expect much from our programmers. Every programmer is expected to be able to fix bugs or add features to a product largely on their own. These features can require a wide array of knowledge, from socket communication to querying information from a database. Each new project is meant to stretch your skills and help you grow from where you are to where you can be.
Don’t worry! You won’t be doing this alone. Our multi-tiered mentoring program matches less experienced programmers up with more experienced programmers, so a vast well of experience is at your service to aid in your work. You will be expected to ask questions, up to and past the point where you can answer them.

This is an exciting time to be a part of the Ivy team. We have been a leader in our industry for over 25 years. At Ivy, we maintain a very relaxed (dog friendly!) office environment. Our team is happy, healthy, and well-rounded. We believe in going the extra mile for our customers and our co-workers. At Ivy Computer we love the work we do, and it shows.

Pay is based on experience and starts at $25 per hour for an internship or $68,000 per year for an entry-level programmer.

This position is based in Waterbury Center, Vermont. Employees are required to work in the office Monday through Thursday. Friday will be optional for full-time employees who would like to work remotely after an initial training period.

Qualifications:
• An excellent foundational knowledge of programming, attained practically or academically, demonstrated by:
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (I.e., VB6, PHP, or Java).
• A strong understanding of the fundamentals of programming, such as loops and functions, algorithms, and data structures.
• An understanding of basic computer architecture, networking, and security concepts.
• Most of all, you must work and play well with others.

Benefits
Ivy Computer, Inc. has an excellent benefits package for full-time employees that includes medical insurance supplemented with an HRA for out-of-pocket expenses, dental and vision benefits, holiday pay, generous paid time off, 401k, life and disability insurance, a bonus plan, and tuition reimbursement opportunities. Just Be You, We Like You That Way!
We firmly believe collaboration among team members with varied pasts and perspectives generates deeper insights, resulting in actions that better serve our customers, employees, and community. Our goal is to foster an inclusive environment, celebrate diversity, and value respect for one another. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities no matter who you are or where you are from.

So, does Ivy sound like the place for you?

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining our team, please submit a cover letter and resume: https://ivycomputer.bamboohr.com/careers/59?source=aWQ9MjI%3D

Why do we want a cover letter? Don't worry, we're not after a robotic cover letter repeating what's on your resume. Give us an example of a project that enabled you to work smarter rather than harder or helped save you time. Share what makes you, well, you! What drives you? What unique things do you bring to the table? Surprise us with the stuff that doesn't quite fit into those resume boxes.

Note: Use of an AI app or service or submitting anything other than your original work shall be considered falsification of your application.
