A newly-created position at VCLF, the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager is a core member of our outreach and fundraising team. This position is the team’s lead brand builder and works in strong partnership with our Senior Marketing and Communications Manager and Director of Investment and Philanthropy. They are responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop comprehensive planning tools, research the competitive landscape, deliver compelling program collateral, and support the team in growing brand awareness and affinity. They elevate the Loan Fund’s goals and advance our mission by finding, engaging and inspiring audiences across a variety of channels.
In addition to primary responsibilities as our team’s digital expert, the Digital Marketing and Communications Manager contributes to the overall efficiency of the marketing team by working collaboratively to achieve team and company goals. By integrating the creative and logistical aspects of the role, this individual helps drive all our marketing initiatives, ensuring a cohesive and compelling brand experience across all platforms.
This position is non-exempt, full time and reports to the Director of Investment and Philanthropy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Increase awareness and affinity for the Loan Fund’s brand through the management of our digital platforms and tools.
• Administer and optimize all aspects of our website and social media to enhance the organization’s ability to attract new donors, impact investors, borrowers other stakeholders and the general public while strengthening current relationships.
• Track and analyze performance metrics across web site and other communications channels to identify and develop content that optimizes user experience and affinity for VCLF’s work.
• Collaborate on the creation of annual fundraising campaign plans, digital outreach/email campaigns to investors/donors/key stakeholders, periodic newsletters and any other digital promotional tools/programs as needed.
• Ensure proactive and timely messaging through the development and maintenance of the organization’s digital content calendar.
• Collaborate with the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager to roll out our annual print publications into digital presentations.
• Manage the domain, email signature automation, digital business card programming and other tools as needed.
• Lead the planning & deployment of online public outreach & webinars, including event registration, content creation and event management
• Work with senior leadership to establish staff as thought leaders in their niches via thoughtful social media strategies and management of their professional digital footprint.
• Function as the Loan Fund’s brand champion, ensuring staff are equipped with the knowledge and tools to represent the brand appropriately.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to provide art direction to photographers, designers, and colleagues to make photos, video, and written work cohesive and impactful.
• Develop and nurture deep knowledge of the Loan Fund’s programs, the problems they solve and the constituents they serve.
• Contribute to a respectful and collegial workplace atmosphere.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SUCCESSFUL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES FOR THIS POSITION
• Minimum three years of digital marketing, social media management or brand management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.
• Experience and aptitude with Windows Office, Zoom, Canva, ModX, content management systems, and social media.
• SEO, CRO, HTML experience a plus.
• Excellent people skills, including working with diverse teams and across organizational functions.
• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Vendor management experience.
• High degree of organizational skills, self-direction, and ability to multi-task
• Demonstrated ability to work with deadlines.
