We invite you to participate in a meaningful volunteer experience by helping the Vermont Foodbank glean fresh produce from local farms. Gleaning is the act of harvesting excess vegetables from farm fields that would otherwise go unharvested. Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and dozens of participating farms, the Vermont Foodbank operates the state's largest gleaning program. By participating, you'll be helping connect people at risk of hunger with fresh, local food, directly from Vermont farms.
This volunteer opportunity is open to all and is the perfect team bonding, making it a great way to spend time outdoors and possibly use your paid volunteer time with your colleagues while supporting the local community.
After the gleaning event, we will gather for a Networking Get-Together in Burlington at Burlington Beer Co. from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. This is a wonderful chance to unwind, celebrate, meet fellow volunteers, and connect with others working toward food security and sustainability in Vermont.
