Substance Misuse Prevention at Work: Creating a Culture of Health and Safety
Tuesday, November 19th, 1:00 – 2:30pm
Join VBSR and United Way of Northwest Vermont for a virtual workshop and conversation about strategies to promote healthy and safe workplaces.
We will share and review a brand-new Substance Misuse Prevention Toolkit for employers developed by the Northwest and Central Vermont Prevention Network in partnership with United Way’s Working Bridges program. The toolkit offers assistance in developing policies to prevent substance misuse disorder, delay initiation of use, and address substance misuse in the workplace.
Over 20 million Americans work full-time with a substance use disorder. Nearly as many Americans aged 18 and older have a substance use disorder and do not work. Untreated substance use disorders cost employers, insurers, and workers thousands of dollars per capita each year (Department of Labor, 2023).
Learn how Vermont employers are addressing this issue, ask questions, and share your experience.
