BirdieBlue is on a mission to rescue well-loved ski and snowboard gear from landfills and give it a bold second life as colorful, adventure-ready bags. From fanny packs to carry-alls, every BirdieBlue bag tells a story of big mountain days, creative reuse, and love for Mother Earth.

Since launching in 2022, we’ve saved 14,000+ pieces of old gear from the landfill and are just getting started. We’re a small, woman-led, Vermont-based team that believes sustainability should be joyful, creative, and community-driven.

Role Overview
Calling all hands-on makers, organizers, and sustainability lovers! As a Production Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in turning retired ski and snowboard gear into one-of-a-kind BirdieBlue bags. You’ll work in our Morrisville cut-and-sew studio helping prep, break down, cut, and organize materials that fuel our production process. If you love working with your hands, care deeply about keeping gear out of landfills, and enjoy being part of a creative, collaborative team, this might be your perfect fit.

What You’ll Do
-Prep & Sort Gear: Wash, sort, and assess incoming ski and snowboard gear so it’s ready for its second life.
-Break Down Old Gear: Deconstruct jackets, pants, and bibs, carefully cutting and separating materials for reuse.
-Cut for Production: Cut bag patterns from reclaimed fabrics using templates and tools that support our efficient production flow.
-Organize with an Eye for Color: Sort materials and color combos in partnership with the BirdieBlue design team (yes, this part is fun).
-Support the Full Process: Learn and assist across all steps of BirdieBlue’s upcycling and manufacturing workflow.
