Plant Manager @ Vermont Creamery

Under the direction of the General Manager of Vermont Creamery, the Plant Manager position provides leadership in the development and implementation of rapid growth and integration strategies.

Under the direction of the General Manager of Vermont Creamery, the Plant Manager position provides leadership in the development and implementation of rapid growth and integration strategies that align with Vermont Creamery enterprise strategy and Land O Lakes Dairy Foods Business objectives. This strategic role requires leadership in the area of infrastructure scaling, development and implementation of Supply Chain strategies that support the business rapid growth, Quality, Food Safety, Cost, Employee Health and Safety, Innovation and Customer facing objectives while meeting enterprise mission and culture goals.

Operating as a key member of the Vermont Creamery Business Leadership Team (executive team), the Plant Manager will be a strong partner with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality and Food Safety, EHS, Engineering, Procurement, Planning/Logistics, Sales, Marketing, and Mission functions to ensure clear expectations on product costs, business unit impact, quality assurance, specifications and customer service.

The Plant Manager must balance long term business, infrastructure, structure and process fast scaling with achieving operational goals within the company mission and culture goals, which include but are not limited to capital budget, cost optimization goals, sourcing material buying principal and B Corp certification requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA in Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain/Operations, Engineering, Food Sciences, or equivalent - required. Candidates without a degree with related work experience will be considered.
  • 5 or more years of Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing leadership experience - required
  • Experience with financial planning, P&L and budgeting and the ability to deliver on annual objectives and long-term investments and return metrics - required
  • Knowledge of Food/Dairy manufacturing processes, and regulatory requirements, including the ability to translate internal company requirements to broad internal and external audiences - preferred
  • Experience with infrastructure and business scaling, rapid growth, change management and great company culture
  • Ability to link operation and supply chain goals with broader corporate mission goals and B Corp certification
  • Excellent communicator, influencer and negotiator, to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and leadership levels
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically, manage large capital infrastructure upgrade while acting with a scrappy and nimble entrepreneurial mindset

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in regular office conditions, production, inside cooler or in warehouse.

Salary range: $120,880 - $181,320 (in most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary range)
