Operations Manager @ The Landmark Trust

This role brings the mission and vision of LTUSA to life in the day-to-day details of the organization's overall operations.

The Landmark Trust USA (LTUSA), a historic preservation non-profit based in Dummerston, VT, seeks a full-time Operations Manager. LTUSA preserves historic properties through creative, sustainable uses for public enjoyment, education, and inspiration. LTUSA’s beautifully restored properties, including Rudyard Kipling’s Naulakha, are available year-round for short-term vacation rentals and small gatherings. Additionally, Scott Farm, a Certified B Corporation, is a for-profit working farm subsidiary of LTUSA specializing in heirloom apples. The nonprofit selects properties based on architectural and historical merit, with current properties dating from the early 1800s to 1910s. This position is charged with overall responsibility for efficient and effective management of LTUSA operations and maintenance. The Operations Manager works closely with the Executive Director and functions as a liaison between them and guest services, housekeeping and maintenance staff. This role brings the mission and vision of LTUSA to life in the day-to-day details of the organization's overall operations.

We are a small, cohesive organization with a passion for historic preservation, sustainable agriculture, public service and stewardship of the cultural, ecological and economic facets of our properties. We are looking for a highly motivated professional who is organized, insightful, works well with people, and possesses a DIY attitude. Core competencies for the position include:

Teamwork – Works collaboratively with all staff, and also community partners when needed, to achieve goals related to the vision for The Landmark Trust USA

Customer Relations – Actively listens to customers, makes realistic commitments, handles challenging situations tactfully and follows up to ensure that needs have been met and answered.

Productivity – Completes projects within established deadlines, identifies process improvements to increase efficiency and reacts quickly to high priority needs.

Quality – Performs work thoroughly and accurately, identifies potential quality problems, and recommends solutions.

Management of Resources – Groups related activities for optimal use of people and resources, regularly reviews and updates plans to ensure time, cost and resource goals are met, manages expenses appropriately to ensure adherence to departmental budget.
