Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) Expands Affordable Homeownership Opportunities
NEK Home Tours & Info Sessions Wednesday May 6th – Free Event

NORTHEAST KINGDOM, VT — The NEK Collaborative, alongside RuralEdge, Vermont State Housing Authority, and the State of Vermont, invites community members, prospective homebuyers, employers, municipalities, service providers, developers, and funders to attend a free in-person home tour and information sessions on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour several Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) homes, learn about program eligibility requirements, and explore the homebuying process, highlighting financial support including favorable loan terms, down payment assistance, reduced mortgage rates, and closing cost discounts. New homes for sale range: $85,000 - $110,000.

All are encouraged to attend one or more sessions to learn how MHIP is creating a new, affordable path to homeownership in the Northeast Kingdom.

Purpose: In response to ongoing housing affordability and development challenges, further intensified by recent flooding, the State of Vermont launched the Mobile Home Infill Program (MHIP) to fast-track lot improvement and home installation of NEW, high quality, affordably priced manufactured homes. This multi-agency innovative initiative is designed to expand access to safe, high-quality, and affordable homeownership opportunities for Vermonters.
