Oru is a Hinesburg based hardware company making wood heat safer, cleaner, and easier to live with. Our first product is a connected monitor for the woodstoves people already own: a sensor tracks the fire in real time, an app sends alerts before small problems become chimney fires, and a glowing lamp — milled from Vermont walnut — lets anyone in the house check the burn at a glance.

Wood is how a huge share of rural Vermont gets through winter, and better information means less wasted wood, less creosote, and fewer 2am worries. The stove is just the start: Oru is building toward whole-home environmental sensing, air quality, moisture, heat designed, assembled, and shipped from Vermont.
