Are you a community-minded business, employee, or entrepreneur who wants to make a positive impact—but aren’t sure where to start?

Join us on November 18th for an in-person workshop designed to help you connect with peers, find direction, and gain a sense of agency as you explore how to create meaningful change in your local community.

Hosted by United Way of Northwest Vermont, Hula, and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, this event will reimagine what community engagement can look like, and offer insights into how businesses and individuals can build impactful, long-lasting partnerships and make an impact in your community.

What to Expect

You will also learn from United Way’s program Common Good Vermont which has been convening and supporting Vermont’s nonprofit sector and advising the state on how local nonprofits are being impacted by federal actions and what policymakers and community members can do to help.

In a time marked by uncertainty and challenge, this workshop will highlight why intentional, collective action matters. We’ll look at the differences between individual and organizational approaches to engagement, and explore accessible ways to get involved—from volunteering and donating to establishing strategic, long-term partnerships.

You will gain practical tools to reduce barriers to engagement and foster collaboration across the community. Together, we can move from intention to impact.

Who Should Join?

Whether you're a business owner, HR professional, manager, or employee, this workshop offers valuable takeaways for every level of experience. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the issues facing our state, actionable ideas for getting involved, and a network of like-minded individuals and organizations ready to create lasting impact—together.

United Way of Northwest Vermont brings the community together to do the work no single organization can do alone. A local independent nonprofit proudly serving Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand Isle Counties, we bring local people and resources together to improve lives today and help build a more just tomorrow. We also run our own programs, including Common Good Vermont, the only statewide program dedicated to uniting, strengthening, and advocating for Vermont’s nonprofit sector. We believe real change is possible when nonprofit, public and private sectors work together. From strengthening local resilience to advancing health and financial security, we’re working towards a future where every person in every community can reach their full potential.
