Advancing People-Centered Workplaces: Inclusive Hiring in Practice

Building a people-centered workplace is not a one-time decision, it’s an ongoing practice. This interactive session will bring together Vermont employers who are actively working to expand access to employment and build stronger, more inclusive workplaces —and want to go further!
This session will focus on how to strengthen and sustain inclusive hiring, while creating space for participants to share experiences, explore challenges, and learn from one another.
Participants will engage in facilitated discussions and small group breakouts, with a focus on strengthening retention, supporting employees, and building workplace cultures where people can thrive.
Participants will:
- Exchange real-world experiences with peer employers
- Work through common challenges (retention, support systems, workplace integration)
- Learn practical approaches that have been tested in business settings
- Strengthen their approach to building people-centered workplaces
- Leave with one clear, actionable next step

Employers earlier in their journey are welcome, but the conversation will build from a shared foundation of experience.
