What's New
VBSR is currently preparing for the 2010 legislative session and our top tier issues include healthcare reform, re-licensure of ENVY, and economic development. We also will be working on rewnewable energy, imporvements to environmental permitting, and solvency of the unemployment trust fund.

Bills passed in 2009 influenced by VBSR advocacy included:
- Economic development and "farm to plate" legislation (H.313). VBSR intitated economic development policy that builds on Vermont's strengths and values. This project will result in a 10-year strategic plan for Vermont's farm and food sector that will build in Vermont's economic strengths, and result in increased jobs and dollars in the state's economy.
- Civil Marriage (S.115). Marraige is a basic human right and strong businesses strive in strong economies.
- Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Bill (H.436). VBSR is the only business association that testified in support of this bill to ensure an adequate and accessibile decommissioning fund. (Bill was vetoed).
- Increased Renewable Energy and Clean Energy Assesment Districts (H.446). VBSR 2009 Energy Supply Policy contained feed-in-tariffs and clean energy assessment districts as priority legislative actions.
