The Vermont Changemakers Table is a professional network for mission-driven young Vermonters committed to the future of Vermont and positive change. A collaboration between Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) and the High Meadows Fund, the group will meet quarterly for dinner, conversation and inspiration with Vermont thought leaders.

Members of the cohort are encouraged to connect informally outside of the four organized dinners and take advantage of opportunities to connect with socially responsible businesses at VBSR events. A complimentary VBSR membership will be extended to individuals who are not currently employed by VBSR members. Applications for the 2019/20 are no longer being accepted. Check back in Summer of 2020 to apply for our next cohort.

What to Expect

The 2019-2020 cohort will:

  • Gather quarterly for conversation and dinner.
  • Learn from and get to know their fellow cohort members and guests who have used their careers to influence Vermont’s environmental, social, and economic future.
  • Learn about tools for change, innovation, and policy engagement.
  • Stretch our thinking about how we each want to make a difference in the world.

What are the innovative approaches your peers have taken as they try to solve problems they care about? Which skills, tools and resources have been critical to their success? What keeps them going in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges? How can we learn from each other’s successes and failures to inform our own journeys?

Meet like-minded young professionals, discover tools for change, enjoy delicious meals together, and learn from each other!

Who Should Participate

We want to build a community of young people curious about how to make positive change through their work. Participation is open to mission-driven Vermonters 35 years old or younger in both for- and non-profit sectors (all career stages welcome; no undergraduate students, please). You must be able to commit to four dinners and a program fee of $140 to cover the cost of meals and programming. If cost is a barrier to participation, please contact Carra Cheslin. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan meal options will be available.

Veterans, people of color, first or second generation Americans, individuals with disabilities or socio-economic disadvantage, members of the LGBTQ community, individuals with refugee status, rural Vermonters, and individuals from diverse and often underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply. We are looking to develop a small, diverse, and committed cohort of no more than 25 people.

2019/20 Dates

The cohort will meet four evenings, generally from 5:30-8:30pm. It’s important that you commit to attending all events:

Join Us!

We are interested in learning more about you and what you would bring to the group. Our goal is to form a cohort of 25 people representing a diversity of perspectives, backgrounds, and geographies. Those selected to participate in the cohort will be asked to pay the program fee after they have been notified that they have been selected.
