Association Health Insurance Plans
As a VBSR member, you can participate in the BRS health insurance plan to provide health insurance for your employees.
The plans are open to members that have their principal place of business in Vermont and have 100 or fewer FTEs.
What are the choices?
Offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BCBSVT), the plan choices include HSA*-compatible plans, and also, HRAs* are available with no additional administrative charge.
The four BCBSVT Plan rates are very attractive – please take a look at the four plans here. When you sign up for this health insurance plan, you also automatically become a member of Business Resource Services (BRS) at no extra cost and have access to all BRS services, some of which may include extra fees.
*HSA = Health Savings Account: a health savings account set up exclusively for paying the qualified medical expenses of the account beneficiary or the account beneficiary’s spouse or dependents.
*HRA = Health Reimbursement Arrangement: Commonly referred to as a health reimbursement account, an HRA is an IRS-approved, employer-funded, tax-advantaged personalized health benefit that reimburses employees for out-of-pocket medical expenses and individual health insurance premiums. Employers can choose whether to allow the funds to be used for all qualified medical expenses approved by the IRS or a subset of eligible qualified expenses.
