Anna NassetAnna Nassett, Founder of Stand Up Resources

Anna Nasset is an international speaker and survivor of stalking and sexual assault. She provides training and awareness to businesses, universities, victim service organizations, military bases, law enforcement and community organizations.
She is emerging as an expert in the field of stalking and shares her story of being an on-going victim and survivor of stalking for the last 8 years, while providing tools for service providers and victims of crime. She is passionate about victim’s rights and sharing how victims can move through the legal system with empowerment and believability to combat re-victimization. She uses her voice and story to encourage all victims of crime and providers.

Anna works remotely doing graphic design and web site design for victim service organizations with her business, Stand Up Resources. She also hosts a podcast on victim services for the Vermont Center for Crime Victim Services and is currently working on her first book.

Michele Morris was hired as Business Outreach Coordinator/Marketing Specialist by the Chittenden Solid Waste District in 2009 and became Director of Director of Outreach & Communications in 2017. Before convincing CSWD to hire her, she earned BA and MA degrees in English literature, fact-checked and researched content for Ranger Rick books at the National Wildlife Federation, worked her way from Copy Editor through Sr. Editor and Field Editor at Backpacker magazine, then followed the natural progression of all print writer-editors and became a personal trainer in Vermont.

Mark Redmond graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in finance in 1979. Two years later he became a full-time volunteer at Covenant House in Times Square. Mark spent the next 22 years working in or near New York City helping homeless and at-risk youth in a variety of capacities. He also obtained a Masters in Public Administration from New York University.

In 2003 Mark and his family moved to Vermont when he was selected to be the executive director of Spectrum Youth and Family Services. Under his leadership Spectrum has become a nationally-recognized program helping youth who are homeless.

Mark is the author of The Goodness Within: Reaching out to Troubled Teens with Love and Compassion and has had articles published in the New York Times, Forbes, and the Washington Post. His talks have been featured on NPR’s The Moth.

Rae CarterRae Carter is an advocate, coach, facilitator, herbalist, musician, strategist, speaker, and writer committed to co-creating heart-centered social change that honors the cycles of nature with compassion and empathy for all living beings. She is reinventing her career following a transformational healing journey from cancer. Rae serves on the VBSR Board of Directors and lives in Plainfield. Her 20-year career includes serving as the communications director at the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, owning a Vermont public relations business, and working with clients in agriculture, tourism, food, finance, education, consumer service, government municipality, and nonprofit sectors. Ross GibsonRoss Gibson is leadership and organizational development consultant and facilitator.  As the Director, Client Operations and Consulting at The Richards Group, Ross works with organizations to help develop positive leadership growth.   Prior to working as a consultant, Ross was Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources at World Learning, a global academic institution and Non-Governmental Organization based in Brattleboro, Vermont.  Ross has held other several senior level positions including Vice President, Learning and Organizational Development at Charles River Labs and Vice President, Human Resources at both American Superconductor and Cambridge Neuroscience, Inc.  Ross is active in several local and regional Human Resources and training organizations and is a past President of the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA).  Ross is a Board member of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, Director-elect of the Vermont State Council of SHRM and President of the Brattleboro Swim Club

Maribeth SpellmanMaribeth joined Hickok & Boardman HR Intelligence in 2016, and serves as the Director of Workforce Engagement, working with employers at every stage of the employee life cycle to attract, motivate, develop and retain engaged employees who will be productive in working to assist an organization in reaching its strategic objectives and operational goals. Maribeth has over 20 years of experience in the employment and personnel fields, serving most recently as the Commissioner of the Department of Human Resources for the State of Vermont. As Commissioner, Maribeth was responsible for providing the full range of HR services to a workforce of over 8,000 employees, to include benefits and wellness, payroll, compliance, labor relations, investigations, classification, compensation, and talent management. Maribeth has a Master of Laws degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from the Catholic University of America.
