Nominate Someone for a VBSR Award
When a person or organization shows exceptionally strong leadership or innovation to leverage the power of business for positive social and environmental impact, we feel it’s worth recognizing the achievement, both to celebrate their accomplishments and to help others learn from their example. We want to amplify and celebrate the inspiring business leaders among us who exemplify VBSR’s vision of a just, thriving, and transformative economy that works for all people and the planet.
With this in mind, VBSR offers awards in four categories:
- VBSR Terry Ehrich Award for Lifetime Achievement
- VBSR Innovation and Inspiration Award
- VBSR Young Changemaker Award
- VBSR Legislator of the Year Award
Nominate Someone for the VBSR Board of Directors
Any individual who is employed by or an owner of a VBSR member in good standing and serves as a strategic decision-maker for the organization is eligible to serve on VBSR’s board of directors, including both non-profit and for-profit members. Members are corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and sole proprietors. Individuals may join VBSR as “Friends of VBSR” but are not eligible for board service and holding office. Cooperative businesses are considered for-profit members.
Terms are for three years, from January 1 – December 31.
The Committee looks for a demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of VBSR and individuals whose representation on the board will contribute to a strong diversity of perspectives based upon multiple factors:
- organizational identity, including size and maturity of organization, geography, and industry
- personal identity, including stage of career, gender identity, race and ethnicity, and lived experience
- knowledge, skills, and interests
The committee especially seeks individuals who identify as women and non-binary, people of color, veterans, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, rural businesses, and other identities and lived experiences traditionally underrepresented in dominant business culture.
VBSR committee participation (prior or present) is preferred but not required.
