The Skinny Pancake Announces Big Tiny Love Album Release Party
Vermont Musicians come together to celebrate our tiniest loves in a compilation children’s music album, “Big Tiny Love” to support The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UVM Medical Center Children’s Hospital.
On Friday, November 30th, “Big Tiny Love” album will be released for sale at all Skinny Pancake outlets and through the website, www.bigtinylove.com. This compilation is a mix of traditional and original music performed and recorded by 14 of Vermont’s best known musical acts.
Big Tiny Love was produced by Burlington resident, Jaime Williams, who spent 2 weeks in the UVM Medical Center NICU when her baby girl was born 6 weeks early. “The NICU is packed with tiny babies, exhausted moms and dads and an amazing team of nurses and doctors. While in the NICU I had this sleepy daydream of a way to give back and Big Tiny Love started to form. It was such a joy to work on thanks to the deep well of talented musicians we are so lucky to have here in Vermont.”
Big Tiny Love will be available as a digital download card for $10 at all Vermont Skinny Pancake locations as well as a select number of other independent retailers beginning November 30th. The album is also available for download directly from www.bigtinylove.com. Proceeds from the album will go to benefit The NICU at UVM Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital.
“I can’t think of a better way to reflect the “Big Tiny Love” that emanates from our neonatal intensive care unit than by combining the local talents of some of Vermont’s best musicians who have come together to celebrate our smallest patients with such a special project. Efforts like these help to ensure we are able to keep the care local and keep the care the best for our children and families,” said Dr. Lewis First, Chief of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital.
An album release celebration will happen at The Skinny Pancake at 60 Lake St in Burlington, on Sunday, December 16th at 4pm. Mister Chris & Friends and other album participants will perform songs off Big Tiny Love.
Musicians who are on the album include: Mister Chris & Friends, The Loveful Heights (featuring Kat Wright), Steady Betty, Mark Daly, Pappy Biondo, Marcie Hernandez, Bow Thayer, Bob Wagner, Josh Panda, Lowell Thompson, Swale, Francesca Blanchard and The Sweet Remains.
Chris Dorman, better known as Mister Chris, runs the Music For Sprouts program on Bread & Butter Farm in South Burlington was excited to participate and write the title track. “Jaime asked me to write the title track for the album, and I was so grateful to help out. This project is very important and personally special to me as my twin sister and I are here in this world due to the NICU we spent many weeks in after being born at 30 weeks weighing just 2.5lbs.”
Ms. Williams’ life partner, Benjy Adler, is the founder of The Skinny Pancake: “When Jaime suggested the idea of putting together this album, it was an easy ‘YES.’ Kids, music, and health…these are all the things we support. Its a privilege to have a platform on which we can launch this very special album and raise funds for such a wonderful cause.”
Big Tiny Love the album was precluded by Big Tiny Love Children’s Music Festival during Lake Champlain Maritime Festival in July 2018. The album’s collaborators have plans to hold future events across the state in celebration of Big Tiny Love.
