Peggy Day Joins CCS Board

Champlain Community Services (CCS) recently announced that Peggy Day of Shelburne, VT has joined its Board of Directors. Day worked for 28 years as an intellectual property attorney before retiring, then working part-time at a state university, supporting students with disabilities, for six years. She “re-retired” and moved to Shelburne last year.

CCS, a VBSR member, is a Colchester-based nonprofit offering supports to people with intellectual disabilities and autism. The agency emphasizes vocational supports and career development, and its supported employment program, Way2Work, is nationally recognized.

“I’ve done a lot of volunteering over the years, addressing the needs of the disabled and disadvantaged,” Day said. Her community commitments are broad-based, as Day currently serves on the Board of Special Olympics Vermont, and the, Slopeside Home Owners Association of Stratton VT, and is a member of the Shelburne Natural Resources and Conservation Committee.

Day earned a B.S. at Niagara University and received her J.D. from St. John’s University. She also holds an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Niagara.
