Northshire Bookstore to Host VBSR Networking Get-Together Next Week

Networking and Education Series to Come to Manchester Center.

Burlington, VT – What does supporting your neighbor have to do with growing Vermont’s economy? Everything! Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is pleased to announce that Northshire Bookstore is welcoming VBSR members and friends for a special night of networking and education around socially responsible business practices on April 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at their flagship store in Manchester Center, VT.

“Northshire Bookstore has been a longtime member of VBSR and they’re committed to the environment and their community,” said VBSR Executive Director Jane Campbell. “They’ve been ‘walking the walk’ since they’ve been open and we are thrilled to have this event at their bookstore because we think business and community leaders will really benefit from hearing about their approach to business.”

Part of a statewide series dedicated to helping connect like-minded business leaders and share knowledge around the triple-bottom-line approach to business, VBSR expects the event to draw more than 40 attendees. This event is free and open to the public; pre-registration is requested. Hors d’oeuvres provided by the host!

Campbell noted that Northshire Bookstore was also a founding member of Local First Vermont, a program now run out of the VBSR offices that works to encourage people to shop at local businesses. “This is a real coming-home event for us because of Northshire’s connection to Local First Vermont, and we’re really excited that during the event we are going to be able to spend a few minutes talking about that connection and how VBSR is doing more with Local First and the Buy Local Coupon Book and Resource Guide in Manchester Center and throughout the southern region of the state.”

The event is sponsored by Greenvest, GVH Studio, Let’s Grow Kids, Northshire Grows, RGS Energy, The Phantom Laboratory, TruexCullins Architecture + Interior Design, and Vermont Community Loan Fund. Learn more or register at www.vbsr.org.
