Mercy Connections May Luncheon

Mercy Connections to honor Theresa Alberghini DiPalma at May Luncheon

BURLINGTON, Vermont – Mercy Connections is honoring Theresa Alberghini DiPalma, Senior Vice President for External Relations at the University of Vermont Health Network, as this year’s recipient of the Catherine McAuley Award. Each year the Board of Directors selects a person for this high honor who exemplifies compassionate service, leadership and commitment to building a just community. The award will be presented at Mercy Connections Annual May Luncheon on May 2, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington.

“We are thrilled to recognize Theresa and are grateful for her service.  She is the perfect choice for this award,” said Lisa Falcone, Executive Director of Mercy Connections. “She is a dedicated community leader and a bold champion for advancing women and causes that improve the overall health and well-being of our communities. She has served on numerous boards, including Mercy Connections.”

Mercy Connections was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 2001 when Trinity College closed.  It is a community-based organization that provides education, mentoring, entrepreneurship training and community for hundreds of adults in transition in our community. It operates on the premise that every person regardless of life circumstances deserves opportunity and empowerment to make significant life changes.

The Annual May Luncheon helps us educate the community about the important work being done at Mercy Connections and its impact on the community. Along with the Catherine McAuley Award, the program will highlight stories of challenge and progress told by our participants.  This year’s program will also celebrate 30 years of women entrepreneurship through the Women’s Small Business Program that began as a partnership between Trinity College and the City of Burlington in 1989. The vision that women could be entrepreneurs 30 years ago became the signature work of Mercy Connections.

The 2019 May Luncheon is chaired by Kathy LaCross, Vice President, Commercial Services at Northfield Savings Bank. Tickets for the event are on sale now. Learn more here.
