Mercy Connections Board of Directors welcomes new members

 

BURLINGTON, Vermont – John Bossange, Chair of the Mercy Connections board, announces five new board members:  Sarah George(Chittenden County State’s Attorney), Erik Hoekstra (Managing Partner, Redstone), Lacretia Johnson Flash (Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff, Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, UVM), Heidi St. Peter (Assistant Director of Academic Support, Saint Michael’s College), and Mary Sullivan (Representative, Vermont State Legislature). We are grateful for this talented and diverse group of individuals who will have great impact on our work and mission individually and collectively as they join our existing board.

Sarah George was appointed as the Chittenden County State’s Attorney in January 2017.  She has a dual Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Connecticut, a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Castleton University, and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School.

Erik J. Hoekstra is the Managing Partner at Redstone and has been with the firm since 2006. He earned a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he earned dual Bachelor of Business degrees in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Finance, Investment & Banking. Erik resides in Burlington, Vt. with his wife, Kortnee, and their son, Melvin.

Lacretia Johnson Flash is the Senior Advisor and Chief of Staff in Human Resources, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs at the University of Vermont (UVM). “Mercy Connections is a community of people who have come together around a profound mission and shared purpose,” she says. Lacretia earned a doctorate from the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program at UVM, and is a graduate of Mercy Connections Women’s Small Business Program Start Up: Comprehensive Business Planning class.

Mary Sullivan is a Vermont State Legislator (Chittenden-6-5) and serves as Vice Chair of the House Natural Resources Committee. Mary graduated from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and received a Master of Science from Boston University’s College of Communication.

Heidi St. Peter is the Assistant Director of Academic Support at Saint Michael’s College. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Saint Michael’s College, and a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Vermont. Heidi says, “Vibrant, responsive, strategic and responsible, Mercy Connections is making a difference in the everyday lives of those they serve.” She lives in Hinesburg, Vt. with her husband, Hollis, and their three children.
