LCC new restorative chocolate bars, in wooden display box

Lake Champlain Chocolates Launches New Chocolate Bar Collection inspired by Nature

Chocolate Preserves & Protects
Life’s Restorative Moments

BURLINGTON, VT: Indulge. Restore. Repeat.  This is the mantra of Lake Champlain Chocolates’ (LCC) new line, the Restorative Moments Chocolate Bar Collection.  Inspired by nature and crafted from organic and fair trade certified extra-dark chocolate, the Vermont chocolatier’s line was born from the desire that chocolate should preserve and protect restorative moments, both in life and in our environment.

“Today more than ever, we seek restorative moments of peace and serenity.” says Allyson Myers, LCC’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “With this new line of bars, not only will consumers be transported beyond the daily chaos for a brief, serene moment, with each bite they preserve and protect restorative spaces in nature.”

As a Certified B Corporation, Lake Champlain Chocolates believes in using business as a force for good- whether it’s exploring exciting flavor combinations, strengthening local agriculture, by using Vermont cream, honey and maple syrup in their chocolate, or fighting climate change.

The new Restorative Moments Chocolate Bar Collection is the next step in LCC’s sustainability journey. By partnering with the Intervale Center’s Conservation Nursery, 10% of net profits from this collection will fund planting trees to restore the quality and integrity of waterways, like the company’s namesake, Lake Champlain.

“This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the Intervale Center to get our conservation message out to a national audience,” says Mandy Fischer, Director of Development and Special Projects at the Intervale Center . “We are thrilled to work with LCC, who has long been a supporter and champion of our work, to highlight our shared commitment to a healthier planet. And when consumers buy these bars, we really will be able to plant more trees!”

Through the sales of these bars, LCC will support the propagation of 40,000 trees every year at the Intervale Center’s 8 acre nursery.  In the next 3-5 years, these trees will then be re-planted in their forever homes along rivers and streams across Vermont- the type of long-lasting impact that is important to LCC’s environmental commitment and values.

The collection’s six flavors, all made with 70% organic and fair trade certified chocolate, include Extra Dark, Lightly Salted, Crunchy Quinoa, Raspberry Jam, Hazelnut Crunch, and Golden Spice (ginger, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon). Each one is wrapped in an eye-catching design that evokes the last slice of the summer sun setting behind the mountains as its colors reflect back across the lake.

“Not only do consumers help the planet by purchasing these bars, we anticipate this line to have broad appeal with 78% of fine chocolate consumers and 58% of general chocolate consumers preferring high cocoa content bars,” says Myers.

The collection is recommended for front-end, point of purchase with a custom designed handcrafted birch countertop display for easy and effective merchandising.  The bars have a desirable SRP of $3.99 and will be available first at www.LakeChamplainChocolates.com and in stores by mid-July 2020.

All of Lake Champlain Chocolates’ products are Kosher-certified, free of preservatives, additives and use non-GMO and fair trade certified ingredients. For more about the Vermont chocolate maker, visit www.lakechamplainchocolates.com.
