Help celebrate smart growth and conservation leadership with the Art Gib Award

The Vermont Natural Resources Council is now accepting nominations for the 2019 Arthur Gibb Award for Individual Leadership. Every year, Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC) honors the legacy of the late Arthur Gibb for his commitment to safeguarding Vermont’s values and unique landscape, as well as for his leadership, vision and dedication to building consensus.

We solicit nominations each year in order to honor the people working on the challenge of integrating growth and conservation, and then celebrate that person’s work with an award presented at the annual meeting. Last year’s awardee, as you may remember, was Paul Costello of the Vermont Council on Rural Development. (Click here to see a list of past honorees.)

Would you help spread the word, or even nominate someone for this honor?

Nomination requirements are:

·      One page nomination form (available in the nomination packet)

·      Nomination letter

·      Two short letters of recommendation

You can find the three page nomination packet online

The nomination deadline is Friday, March 29, 2019.

This is a tradition we inherited from Smart Growth Vermont, and one we are very proud to continue. It provides an important opportunity to highlight individuals whose work on the ground shows that it is possible to work together to find the balance between human and natural communities – a balance that we care deeply about achieving.
