Conference addresses heath equity, cultural competence, social justice

Champlain Community Services (CCS), a VBSR member, announces Vermont Care Partner’s annual conference “Stepping Forward Together: The Conversation Continues.” It’s Wednesday, March 14 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Dudley Davis Center at UVM.

The event features national, regional, and local speakers discussing health care disparities, cultural competence and ways we can improve our service delivery, support and protection of all Vermonters. This year’s keynote will be provided by Dr. Renee Brand Canady, Ph.D., MPA. Dr. Canady is the Chief Executive Officer of the Michigan Public Health Institute and is recognized nationally as a thought leader in health disparities and inequities, cultural competence, and social justice.

CCS is a Colchester-based nonprofit serving Vermonters with intellectual disabilities and autism, and is a member of Vermont Care Partners.
