Businesses Putting Their Waste to Work: Recap, Thanks, Photos, and More

More than 80 members of the VBSR community joined together on Wednesday, September 21 at The Alchemist in Stowe for “Businesses Putting Their Waste to Work,” part of the VBSR People.Planet.Prosperity. Speaker Series. See below for photos of the evening.

Thanks to all who made the journey. It was wonderful to see the VBSR community engaged in learning, deepening connections, and enjoying themselves. It is always empowering to see the community united around one vision – a just, thriving, and transformative economy that works for all people and the planet.

This in-person event combined a panel discussion on unique solutions to waste management and their impact on the environment with networking in The Alchemist’s inviting atrium and taproom.

VBSR sends gratitude to our generous host, The Alchemist; to our moderator, Erika Dunyak of Vermont Law & Graduate School; and our panelists, Joel Hartman of The Alchemist, Harrison Kahn of Caledonia Spirits, Eliza Leeper of Vermont Creamery, Marina McCoy of Waste Free Earth, and Kelsey McWilliams of wasted*. Special thanks to The Alchemist’s Wastewater Manager, Steve Miller, for his tour of the brewery’s wastewater system (and more!) after the panel ended.

We’d also like to thank our event sponsors:

And, of course, thank you to Piecasso and Bistro at 10 Acres for the amazing food!
