Visitor Center Assistant | Part Time

The Green Mountain Club (GMC) seeking a friendly and dynamic individual to work 9:00 to 5:00, 3 days a week, year-round in our Visitor Center on Route 100 in Waterbury Center. One weekend day required. $16-18 per hour. Great working environment. Equal Opportunity Employer.

We are a non-profit organization with the mission to make the Vermont mountains play a larger part in the life of the people by protecting and maintaining the Long Trail System and fostering, through education, the stewardship of Vermont’s hiking trails and mountains.

Responsibilities include: greeting visitors; assisting them with hike planning; providing education and up to date information regarding the Long Trail, the Green Mountain Club, and its mission; sales of GMC publications and other retail products; daily reconciliations of sales and credit card transactions; answering phone calls and e-mail inquiries; processing online and wholesale orders.

Qualifications: excellent customer service skills; detail oriented and the ability to multitask; computer proficiency; hiking experience and personal knowledge of local hiking trails preferred; ability to work independently and with a team.
