The Project Financial Analyst is responsible for performing internal financial analysis and monitors budget, schedule and overall forecast constraints for VELCO’s capital projects, billable engagements and maintenance activities. They are also responsible for working with the Project Estimator, analyzing project costs, developing and maintaining cost information, and supporting project managers in the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts. Additionally, responsibilities include the performance of strategic initiatives and process improvements efforts to support the company’s vision and mission.
How you will make an impact
- Develop and implement financial controls for VELCO’s capital transmission project program, billable engagements, as well as maintenance activities;
- Monitor, maintain and analyze financial reporting processes to obtain information required to develop comprehensive financial reports, prepare monthly budget performance reports and prepare assets for inclusion in our continuing property records;
- Actively participate in the financial forecasting process and conduct monthly reconciliations of project forecasts vs. actuals;
- Identify trends in spend rates, variances to forecasts/budget, and work with project managers to adjust project financial forecasts;
- Support the development and analysis of project and program of work financial performance metrics;

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in accounting/economics/finance/business or equivalent experience. Understanding of utility infrastructure projects including expected expenditures, durations, and spend risks is a plus.

- Starting pay will be determined at the time of offer based on the experience, education, and training of the successful candidate.
- This is a hybrid position and will require time at the Rutland campus on a weekly basis.
- Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

The Fine Print
Must be able to perform typical administrative functions which may involve long periods of keyboarding and periodically of scanning, filing, copying, etc. Must be able to maintain fast pace while completing complex work, in potentially stressful situations, with competing priorities, within tight timelines and with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work additional hours when necessary.
