Procurement Manager

Location: partially remote with regular on-site in Windsor, VT requirements

Reports to: Norwich Technologies – Luke Cady

Status: Full Time

Job Summary

The procurement manager will be responsible for managing procurement activities across all functional areas of the organization.  This will include creation, execution, and active management of purchase orders in Netsuite.  The procurement manager will oversee inventory and cycle counts, as well as negotiation and optimization of vendor terms.  It is critical for this role to manage just-in-time material deliveries and leverage the power of supply chain management for managing company cash flow needs; accuracy, completeness, and consistency of purchase orders will be the main tool to achieve this goal. This job will be partially remote, but will require regular work at our warehouse in Windsor, VT.

Primary  

  • Manage Netsuite inventory item records and inventory cycle, including receiving, inventory, and fulfillments
  • Work closely with engineering team to develop and value engineer bills of material
  • Work with trucking and freight companies to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of materials
  • Manage purchase and delivery of large-scale solar and EV related items including modules, inverters, transformers, monitoring, and racking systems
  • Procure ad-hoc “BOS” items as necessary
  • Optimize warehouse materials towards cost savings on new product procurement
  • Oversee monthly inventory cycle counts and rectify changes in inventory system
  • Actively manage and direct all purchasing activities for individual projects, including tracking project changes and adjusting orders accordingly
  • Develop new procurement processes and optimize current ones to create a comprehensive and clear procurement strategy, process, and communication

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 3 years procurement experience, experience in solar industry supply chain strongly preferred
  • Experience managing project requirements and schedule simultaneously with cash flow realities and payment timing
  • Excellent vendor relationship management and communication skills
  • Experience with purchase order, inventory and receiving systems – Netsuite strongly preferred
  • Ability to drive a forklift
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, occasionally up to 150 lbs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, positive “can do” attitude, determined problem-solving ability
  • Able to work both under instruction and in a self-directed manner as needed
  • Valid driver’s license is required
