The New England Feeding New England (NEFNE) Project Director will advance the goal of moving the region to 30% regional food production for regional food consumption by 2030. They will lead core partners in efforts to convene public, private, and nonprofit entities across the New England area to understand key issues and take high-priority actions to address them. Intended outcomes will include state-level and regional policy and investment decisions that will lead to shortened food supply chains and will increase the amount of food that is both produced and consumed in New England.  New England Feeding New England is a project of the New England Food System Planners Partnership.  Additional information about NEFNE and the Partnership, is available at

The NEFNE Project Director will have at least five years of project management experience with an increasing level of responsibility; knowledge and experience in state or regional food systems, especially among private sector actors; knowledge of multi-stakeholder engagement processes and strong / demonstrated facilitation and communication skills; experience interacting with state-level government and elected officials and government processes; experience managing federal and foundation grants; and a commitment to racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, with an approach that values the individual and respects differences and builds networks.

This is a full-time, grant funded position, based out of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) which administers funding on behalf of the NEFNE project. Position start date is flexible, but preferred by March 6, 2023. The estimated annual salary for this position will be $75,000. Employee benefits per VSJF’s Personnel Policy will apply, including 20 days of paid Combined Time Off and 10 paid holidays. To be effective in this position, the Director needs to live in New England. Specific work location is negotiable. Travel within the region will be required.
