Ivy Computer
Ivy Computer Seeks Talented Programmer or Programming Intern | Full Time
Category: Computer/Electronics
Location: 2933 Waterbury-Stowe Rd, Waterbury Village Historic District, VT 05676, USA
Ivy Computer is expanding our software development team and we are looking for Programmers. As one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the state of Vermont (according to Vermont Business Magazine), we have a couple of spots to fill. Whether you are newer to programming and interested in an internship or you have several years of experience, we are interested in hearing from you!
At Ivy, we expect much from our programmers. Every programmer is expected to be able to fix bugs or add features to a product largely on their own. These features can require a wide array of knowledge, from socket communication to querying information from a database. Each new project is meant to stretch your skills and help you grow from where you are to where you can be. But you won’t be doing this alone. Our mentoring program matches junior programmers up with seniors, so a vast well of experience is at your service to aid in your work. You will be expected to ask questions, up to and past the point where you can answer them.
Internships are scheduled for an agreed-upon timeframe (usually 2-4 months). This is not a coffee-fetching internship. We will teach you the way that Ivy programs and gives you a chance to show your potential and rise to those expectations. Interns who demonstrate the skills, strengths, and abilities we are looking for will be offered a full-time position at Ivy.
This is an exciting time to be a part of the Ivy team. We have been a leader in our industry for over 25 years. At Ivy, we maintain a very relaxed office environment. Our team is happy, healthy, and well-rounded. We believe in going the extra mile for our customers and our co-workers. At Ivy Computer we love the work we do, and it shows.
Pay is based on experience and starts at $25 per hour for an internship or $66,000 per year for an entry-level programmer.
Qualifications:
Experience: Work experience as a computer programmer is preferred, but not required.
Education: A BS in Computer Science or 5+ years of work experience is required. An intern should be within one year or less from completing a Computer Science degree.
Most of all, you must work and play well with others.

Why do we want a cover letter? We aren’t looking for a copy-paste form letter that stiffly outlines your work experience; that information is already on your resume. Instead, tell us more about you and what you’re all about. Share with us things you think are important that may not fit well on a traditional resume.
