This position enjoys a terrific variety of work in HR (what we call Happiness Resources) – including benefits administration, payroll and recruitment support. We’re looking for someone who nails attention to detail, commitment to excellence and delighting our staff with answers to their questions and serving their HR needs. This role works with both Finance and HR teams to deliver wonderful communications with our valued customers and amazing staff. It’s a combination people person and diligent record keeper – because both are necessary to provide the service our beloved employees deserve. This position may carry out responsibilities in all of the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment – at least two days per week in the office with flexibility to work from elsewhere for other portions of the week.


  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all employees; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Performs benefits administration, including monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election processes. Maintains and distributes list of new and canceled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.
  • Administers our payroll (weekly and bi-weekly), enters adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes and the like. Coordinates, collects and verifies hours worked for hourly staff; and personal leave for all.
  • Provides recruitment support as needed for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; including collaboration on writes and places advertisements; conducts new-employee orientations;
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Provides educational support to team members for all HR systems (HRIS, benefits, etc.)
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

5 years Human Resources experience including specific demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Payroll and Benefits Administration
  • Recruitment
  • Employee Relations
  • Program/Policy Development
  • Training Program Development
  • Proficiency with HRIS (we use Paylocity – so that’d be cool)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of employees
  • Experience managing projects with ownership from inception to completion.
  • Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication abilities both verbal and written
  • Aptitude in problem-solving and creative solutions oriented
  • Excellent customer service skills for responding to internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment and shift gears as needed.
