The Women’s Small Business Program has a 30-year track record of helping entrepreneurs create or expand their business ideas. Using the framework of a business plan, students learn the language of business, create a comprehensive business plan, and expand their professional and personal networks.

The Women’s Small Business Start Up Program is seeking a dynamic instructor for its semester-long comprehensive, entrepreneurial business planning course. You will be part of a highly-engaged teacher team charged with instructing and coaching aspiring adult entrepreneurs who are engaged in creating micro businesses; you will instruct and coach students in the development of their business plan teaching from your area of expertise, micro business financial management.

Position is approximately 6-8 hours per week, for 15-16 weeks/sessions, two sessions/year.

You will teach business finance from the perspective of a micro business startup. You will have knowledge of basic pro forma financial statement preparation for business plan usage and financial statement interpretation. You will instruct students in researching startup costs, COGS, business expenses, development of revenue strategies, pricing, mark-up and margins, cash flow, understanding breakeven analysis, borrowing, etc.

Our ideal candidate will have experience teaching / facilitating adults in a non-traditional classroom environment, knowledge of the business plan process, and self-employment experience of their own.
