With over 20 years of integrative health practice under its belt, Sojourns is poised for growth and change.

We need you – professionals from the financial, fundraising, business and healthcare sectors – to help govern our uniquely collaborative clinic, which offers care to southern Vermont and surrounding communities.

More specifically, we are looking for the following skills and board member attributes:

Skills:

  • Nonprofit board experience
  • Integrative Healthcare / Medicine
  • Financial
  • Fundraising
  • Business
  • Legal
  • Human Resources / Personnel
  • Facility / Property Management / Builder / Development

Members are:

  • Local or remote, with a sensitivity to / understanding of the challenges of providing integrative healthcare in a rural setting
  • Committed to diversity, equity and inclusion in support of the organization’s mission
  • Understanding of the value of strategic planning and organizational development
  • Open to variable terms of service on the board such that we can create a staggered and sustainable pool of members
  • Able to serve on at least one committee
  • Engaged, enthusiastic and prepared in advance of every meeting
  • Able to partner with the Executive Director for mutual accountability and support (Board Chair role)

Members also:

  • Meet quarterly, with working meetings in between as needed, to collaborate on governance related concerns
  • Conduct outreach to local leaders, organizations and vendors to raise visibility and support for the Clinic
  • Support donor cultivation and stewardship efforts
  • Attend and speak at special events, open houses and on-site Clinic tours
  • Recruit new board members on a staggered basis to ensure a continually full board (ideally 9 members)
  • “Give or Get” at least one meaningful annual financial contribution to the organization
  • Participate in annual board self-assessment, development and training
  • Provide guidance, support and constructive annual assessment for the Executive Director (Board Chair role)
