REMOTE WORK: Blue Cross has transitioned to a hybrid workplace where employees within driving distance of our Berlin, VT office work Wednesdays in the office with flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week. We are also open to fully remote candidates further than 50 miles from our Berlin, VT office and those living out-of-state.
Associate Actuarial Analyst Responsibilities:
- Identify Data Warehouse integrity issues and assist in the reconciliation of Data Warehouse data with corporate financials.
- Identify areas for possible improvement of data capabilities and the quality of department analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the development of rating, rate filings, and other rating related responsibilities.
- Provide actuarial analysis concerning moderately complex issues and trends.
- Perform analysis for the development of financial plans, re-forecasts, and other financial projections.
- Assist in maintaining reserve programs, profit studies and pricing files and associated documentation.
- Perform analysis focused on risk adjustment initiatives.
- Identify, participate in and/or implement process improvement initiatives.
- Perform analyses to support special projects.
- Prepare and/or maintain documentation related to standard operating procedures as well as routine and special projects.
- Complete ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.
- Represents Actuarial Services on special projects involving other areas of the Plan.
Associate Actuarial Analyst Qualifications:
Student Track Qualifications:
- BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field required.
- 1- 3 years of closely related experience desirable.
- Minimum of one course of the Society of Actuaries exams.
- Maintain student status according to the Blue Cross VT Actuarial Student Program.
Non Student Track Qualifications:
- BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field required.
- 2-5 years of closely related experience required with 1 year in health industry, preferably in data analysis.
- Strong computer knowledge (including programming, , Excel, SAS and/or SQL)
