Assistant Actuarial Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Identify Data Warehouse integrity issues, and assist in the reconciliation of Data Warehouse data with corporate financials.
  • Identify areas for possible improvement of data capabilities and the quality of department analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in the development of rating, rate filings, and other rating related responsibilities.
  • Perform analysis to support the development of financial plans, re-forecasts, and other financial projections.
  • Identify, participate in and/or implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and/or maintain documentation related to standard operating procedures as well as routine and special projects.

Assistant Actuarial Analyst Qualifications:

  • Student Track Qualifications:
    • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field required.
    • Level I:    Minimum of one course of the Society of Actuaries exams.
    • Maintain student status according to the BCBSVT Actuarial Student Program.
  • Non-student Track Qualifications:
    • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field required.
    • 1-3 years of closely related experience
    • Strong computer knowledge (including programming, Access, EXCEL, SAS and/or SQL)
