Operations Assistant Intern | ASAP

Position Description

Commonwealth Dairy was founded in 2008 in response to the strong demand for yogurt by the food service industry. After receiving funding in a joint venture With Ehrmann, the company began production in a newly-built $32 million processing facility. After an expansion at the Brattleboro plant and the opening of a second plant in Arizona, a second Brattleboro expansion, the continued success brought the attention of the world’s largest dairy products company, Lactalis Group. Commonwealth Dairy continues to produce and distribute high quality dairy products around the country.

Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, this internship provides administrative support to the manufacturing/production areas. In addition to assisting with plant scheduling, typing and filing, the intern will also perform other duties such as record keeping and special projects.

  • Provide support to Production Manager as required
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Collect and enter data
  • Create monthly reports
  • Manage records of company policies and procedures
  • Create presentations, documents, files, spreadsheets and databases
  • Update internal operation procedure documents
  • Store, file and retrieve corporate documents and reports
  • Provide innovative ideas
  • Order supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Previous administrative assistant experience required.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

Desired Skills, Attributes and Knowledge

  • High degree of proficiency with all Microsoft products, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP or comparable programs a plus
  • Experience related to the following areas; warehouse, supply chain, logistics, replenishment, process improvement, data analytics
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

Educational / Professional Development Outcomes

In addition to gaining multifaceted production experience, the Operations Assistant Intern will have the opportunity to assist with special projects, such as establishing and creating documentation for new SOP’s.
