Location: Bellows Falls

Main Focus of Internship:

Administrative/Business Operations

Position Description:

Parks Place Community Resource Center was founded 21 years ago in order to provide residents of the Greater Falls area access to much needed human services that were otherwise only available in Brattleboro or Springfield. Transportation was one of the many barriers that was keeping individuals and families in this area from getting the support they needed. 21 years later Parks Place is now home to over 45 agencies in every area of human service, including: employment and training, education, health prevention and intervention, housing, community justice, income assistance, mental health, and substance abuse, among others.

Parks Place is considered a “hub,” or “one stop shopping” for human services. Someone may come in order to send a fax or use office equipment (which we offer at no charge) and find themselves connected to a recovery coach, someone to assist them in applying for subsidized housing, join a club for job-seekers, and find support in a peer group for young moms. This model not mitigates the hurdles or “hoops to jump through” for those seeking services, but also encourages communication and dialogue between those who provide services.

This position will be responsible for providing consistency to the front desk, greeting providers and clients, entering data, and assisting with basic office duties. This person will offer marketing assistance in the form of mailings, webpages, social media, flyers and newsletters, and other publications. This individual will support staff on special projects and initiatives, and will also have the opportunity to take the lead on assignments of interest.
