About this event

This year’s virtual Summit theme, Navigating the Unexpected, is a reminder of the radical changes we made to our businesses and lives over the past two years…and the changes we will face ahead of us.

Summit Schedule

We have organized panel discussions over four consecutive evenings (6:30pm-8:00pm) on November 1-4, 2021 to discuss the following topics with a pandemic lens:

November 1: Funding your business at any stage: from startup to growth

Whether you are just starting or at the next stage of your business, our panel will address the age old question “how do I get money for my biz?”

Speakers: Gwen Pokalo (Center for Women & Enterprise- Vermont), Elena Gustavson (Vermont Community Loan Fund), Joy Hastings (Mascoma Bank), Abbey Salomon (Community Capital of Vermont), Louis Schibli (Milk Money VT & This Way Up), Lisa Wood (Mercy Connections Women’s Small Business Program).

November 2: Build, Adapt, Iterate, and Grow

When faced with the tough decision to keep on going or close up shop, our panel of business owners opted back into their entrepreneurial spirit.

Speakers: Emma Mulvaney-Stanak (VT State Representative), Sarah DeGray (REV Indoor Cycling), Emily Garrett ( Laughing River Yoga), Akshata Nayak (Little Patakha), Cara Tobin (Honey Road)

November 3: Marketing Amidst Change

Projecting calm, trustworthiness, and safety when the conditions change constantly is an art. Our panel will share the backstories to marketing “safe joy” to their customers and communities during the pandemic.

Speakers: Julia Atherton (Atherton & Co.), Claire Brown (Sangha Studio), Alexx Shuman (Nomadic Kitchen Confections), Sas Stewart (Adventure DinnerOn the Fly, and formerly Stonecutter Spirits)

November 4: Head Above Water: Prioritizing Mental Health

The rollercoaster of emotions we have collectively experienced takes a toll on our mental capacity to be present in our lives and work. Our panel will discuss how we prioritize our mental health to thrive in our lives and businesses.

Speakers: Claire Giblin (Claire Giblin Wellness), Nicole Grenier (Stowe Street Cafe), Kate Robinson (Wild Birch Wellness), Amanda Starr (Amanda Starr Photography)

Attendees will:

  • Receive a link to Summit webinar to attend the live events;
  • Get access to recorded panel discussions and resource pages (if you miss attending one of the evening panels).
  • Be abke to list your business on our printed directory, mailed out with sponsor and presenter offers, and a limited edition illustration created by Elisa Järnefelt of As Little Cooking as Possible.
