Employers trying to protect their business while doing right by employees are contending with a host of difficult employment law challenges as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, even while legislative efforts to mitigate the impact of the virus continue to shift the legal landscape.

Join VBSR and employment attorneys Jon Rose and Liz Kleinberg, as we discuss some common employment law questions and update small businesses and HR professionals on the latest state and federal legislative responses, including:

  • Best safety practices for employers unable to implement remote work plans
  • Considerations for employers thinking of laying off or furloughing employees, including unemployment benefits issues
  • New “emergency” paid leave requirements under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)
  • Employment law changes in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act
  • Other “late breaking” developments
