Many of us have team members working remotely for the foreseeable future – and for some of us, remote work will be a large part of the future definition of “workplace.” This changes the relationship between employees, colleagues and managers. To successfully navigate these changes, we all need to learn new ways of communicating and engaging with one another when we can’t be face to face.

Part 2:

Important Conversations with Remote Employees:

Tools to Effectively Communicate When It Really Matters

Wednesday, June 16th

1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

We’ve all heard of “difficult conversations” – and have probably been in at least a few of them. Having these conversations remotely can make them even more challenging for both the recipient and the person delivering the information. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

In this workshop, we’ll flip the script on “difficult” conversations and discover how to share important information in a clear and supportive way when you’re working remotely. (Hint: regular engagement and a focus on appreciation make it easier!)

In this workshop, we’ll explore:

  • Steps to take before and after important conversations
  • Communicating about change
  • Facilitating performance-based or disciplinary (or insert your own descriptive word here) conversations
  • The importance of providing ongoing, real-time feedback

This workshop is geared towards managers and leaders, but employees of all levels will benefit from participating.

Registration for this workshop is free for VBSR members and $20 for non-members to attend. The workshop will take place virtually, and the details to join the workshop will be sent via email to all who register, in advance of the event.
