Learn how to cultivate a culture of sustainability within your company to empower stakeholders to live out your brand’s sustainability values through educational guides, trainings, challenges, and sustainability-focused content.

 

Join VBSR, Waste Free Earth, and Dealer.com for a 1.5 hour virtual workshop that will explore opportunities and tactics to encourage stakeholder buy-in for company-wide sustainability. Marina McCoy and Alexandra Thompson of Waste Free Earth will share successful practices from their over 14 years working in sustainability and zero-waste. Rob Meader and Allison Lazarz from Dealer.com will share how sustainability was built into their company culture from very early on, with a focus on giving back to the community.

Waste Free Earth

Waste Free Earth creates award-winning systems that inspire others to incorporate zero waste behaviors. They are on a mission to help individuals and businesses reinvent how they produce and consume waste through education that empowers and engages.

Waste Free Earth is an LGBTQ+ and BIPOC led company that is 100% women-owned and operated out of Burlington, VT.

Marina McCoy

Founder, CEO & Zero Waste Director, Waste Free Earth

In 2020, Marina McCoy was named a pioneer and expert in her field by the Burlington Free Press. In March 2020, she was awarded Vermont’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year, along with being nominated for 1% For The Planet’s Pinnacle Award: Unleash Passion Every Day.

Her company, Waste Free Earth is reinventing how society produces and consumes waste through education that engages and empowers.WFE By hosting informative workshops, interactive trainings, and creating zero waste-focused content, they are building a culture that prioritizes zero waste systems over the current status quo of burying single-use items as trash in landfills. Personally, Marina has been living zero waste for the past six years and loves sharing her enthusiasm for waste reduction with anyone willing to learn.

Alexandra Thompson

Sustainability Programming Manager & Zero Waste Expert, Waste Free Earth

Alexandra is a big advocate for sustainability and entrepreneurship education. She started her career on a marketing campaign creating awareness about the jobs and people in the recycling industry. Before the pandemic, she traveled around the country implementing zero waste systems and nonprofit advocacy zones at music festivals and large scale events.

With gatherings being cancelled, she’s been working on Waste Free Earth projects to foster sustainability culture in the workplace. She’s excited to create sustainability programming that makes zero waste more accessible to a wide range of audiences.

WFEBecause of the many roles she’s held in the events industry, she brings attention to detail and creative thinking to every Waste Free Earth project. Other festivals she’s worked include Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, AFROPUNK (Brooklyn & Atlanta), Famously Hot New Year, and Jam Room Music Festival.

Rob Meader has worked at Dealer.com for the previous 12 years in various roles, currently in project management. Rob was the founding member of the Dealer.com “Green Team” and was initially selected for the Cox Enterprises Go Green council in 2017. With experience in energy efficiency and local conservation efforts, a passion for sustainability, and a desire to have left the world a better place upon departure, Rob strives to engage co-workers and stakeholders alike to change mindsets and behaviors while holding down his day job.Dealer.com

 

Allison Lazarz

 

Allison Lazarz

Software Test Engineer, Dealer.com

Allison Lazarz has worked at Dealer.com for 7 ½ years as a software tester. In 2018 she joined the “Go Green Council,” that Dealer.com’s parent company Cox Automotive oversees. The Go Green Council pulls together people from the Cox Automotive businesses across the country who are passionate about sustainability. Allison and her Go Green colleagues have helped Dealer.com cut down on landfill waste by encouraging employees to be more conscientious about what materials are recyclable and compostable.Dealer.com
