Downtown Up is dedicated on a mission-driven level exclusively to helping Vermont’s businesses and local economies grow and stay strong. We saw that there was no for-profit entity dedicated to that mission, so we decided to create one because we love the creativity, vibrancy, and community that Vermont businesses offer. We offer strategic business coaching for Vermont business owners that holds them accountable to make the best strategic decisions and take efficient, effective actions on behalf of their businesses. That, in turn, enables the business owners to finally gain the freedom and make the impact they went into business for in the first place.

Champlain Community Services (CCS) provides essential supports, focused on employment, to people with intellectual disabilities and autism, building a community where everyone participates and everyone belongs. Partnering with local businesses in multiple industries and sectors, our Way2Work supported employment program emphasizes jobs and career development in the competitive economy.  Nationally recognized for best practices in our field, Way2Work provides a unique continuum of pre-vocational, employment and self-employment support, from high school through retirement.  Based at Ft. Ethan Allen in Colchester, CCS was named a “Best Place to Work in Vermont” for 2019 and 2020. Learn more about us at www.ccs-vt.org.

At Girls on the Run Vermont we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
