About Our Host:

Stowe Bowl’s 8-lane bowling venue is not your regular alley, but something a little more boutique, swanky, cozy, comfortable, loungy, and elegant. And looking behind the scenes, there’s even more. This is a small business in the hospitality industry working to improve its environmental impact, community engagement and workplace quality.

Local Motion local motion's logo, blue circle with name in white in center

Local Motion is building a better Vermont through biking and walking by helping communities become great places to bike and walk. Local Motion was founded in 1999 with a singular (and improbable) goal:  to get people on bikes across the mouth of the Winooski River, where the Burlington Bike Path then came to an end. Since then, they have grown to become Vermont’s statewide advocate for active transportation, vibrant communities, and safe streets.  Their mission is simple:  to bring walking and biking within reach for all Vermonters.

SunCommon

SunCommon

SunCommon is a market-solution to climate change, starting from the belief that everyone has the right to a healthy environment and brighter future — and renewable energy is where it starts. Energy from the sun can power our lives and build vibrant communities. Their mission is to tear down the barriers to clean energy and use our business as a force for good. We do that by making it easy and affordable for all Vermonters to go solar. Organized as one of Vermont’s pioneering Benefit Corporations and certified as a BCorpSunCommon is committed to the triple bottom line of people, planet and profit.  Their 105 workers operate from energy-positive headquarters in Waterbury. Now 6 years old, SunCommon has connected 5000 Vermonters to a solar solution for their home, school or business. This is fun stuff.

Let’s Grow Kids!

Let's_Grow _Kids_Logo

Let’s Grow Kids is a statewide campaign about the need for more high-quality, affordable child care in Vermont to better support our children, families, communities and economy. More than 70% of Vermont children under age 6 have all of their parents in the labor force, meaning they’re likely to need care. Yet nearly half of those infants and toddlers don’t have access to any regulated care, and nearly 80% don’t have access to high-quality programs. Let’s Grow Kid’s goal is to gain public support for increased, sustainable investment that gives each child the chance to reach their full potential.
