University of Vermont Extension Northwest Crop & Soils Program and Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets is offering their 2019 Industrial Hemp Conference, “A Grower’s Tutorial” on Friday, February 8 at the Hilton in Burlington.

This one-day conference will expand industrial hemp knowledge of farmers from seed to sales. Their goal is to convene an audience of farmers, service providers, and related industries that will engage with the farming community.

Speakers include Dr. Monique McHenry and Dr. Jay Noller. Dr. McHenry is an Assistant Professor from the department of Pharmacology at UVM’s Larner College of Medicine, and currently teaches Medical Marijuana and Cannabis Professional Certificate and a Pharmacology course on Medical Cannabis at UVM’s College of Medicine. She’ll be presenting a plenary session on the taxonomy and chemistry of hemp.

Dr. Noller, a Professor and Head of the Dept. of Crop and Soil Science at Oregon State University, will be sharing his experiences and expertise as the original leader for research and development for Oregon’s hemp industry.

Multiple breakout sessions will include educational and information sharing opportunities on the types of hemp grown for food, fiber, and flower, including breeding and selection of hemp for CBD production, and growing, harvesting, and drying/storage methods.

Due to high interest in the conference, registration is now full – but joining via live broadcast is now an option! They’ll be using Zoom Video Webinar to allow folks to access any of the presentations.

Once you register and pay online, you will receive the detailed information and necessary links to connect via Zoom to any of the conference presentations. You must register before 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 7th. No late registrations accepted.
