Selling to the Employees: A Path for Business Succession — Morrisville
Starting to think about ownership succession for your business? This FREE seminar offers the opportunity to learn about the possibility of selling to the employees!
Presented by the Vermont Employee Ownership Center (VEOC) and Cooperative Fund of New England, attendees will get an overview of the two most common forms of broad-based employee ownership used for ownership succession: Employee Stock Ownership Plans and Worker Cooperatives. The session will also include a discussion of the process by which a sale to employees commonly occurs, with a focus on making financing work for employee groups of modest means.
While free, seating is limited, so please register ASAP! The seminar is Co-Presented by the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation and Sponsored by Union Bank.
The Vermont Employee Ownership Center is a statewide non-profit whose mission is to promote and foster employee ownership in order to broaden capital ownership, deepen employee participation, retain jobs, increase living standards for working families, and stabilize communities. The VEOC’s Employee Ownership Loan Fund recently received a matching grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission, and so is especially looking for opportunities to deploy those funds in Lamoille County.
Founded more than 40 years ago, Cooperative Fund of New England is a community development loan fund that facilitates socially responsible investing in cooperatives, community-oriented nonprofits, and worker-owned businesses in New England and adjacent communities in New York.
