On February 23rd, traveling Swedish opera stars are merging opera with industry at Burlington’s AO Glass factory. On the bill? Mozart, Bizet, and Vivaldi, a special appearance by the Youth Opera Company of Vermont, and hot glass furnaces.

To celebrate this community-centric Pop-Up Opera, AO Glass is releasing a limited run of pressed glass bowls using an antique glass press from the 1890s. The bowl is a 1940s era design that was created in honor of Jenny Lind, the Swedish Nightingale, an opera singer who toured with PT Barnum.

Prepare to be dazzled by two Swedish opera stars, Lotte Ohlander and Laine Quist, who are bringing the glamour of opera to our industrial glass factory in Burlington, Vermont. Accompanied by the warm humming of the glass furnace, their voices will create a beautiful melding of performance and craft.

Between arias we’ll sip curated drinks from A/fellow VBSR member Adventure Dinner’s pop-up bar. They’ll bring a selection of cocktails, mocktails, natural wine, and local beer available for purchase.

We don’t get a lot of opportunities to dress up here in Vermont, so now’s the time to pull out some sparkles or however you’d like to feel fancy!
