Tuesday, September 29, 3-5pm Farmers, gardeners and soil enthusiasts, join NOFA-VT and the farmers at Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center on Tuesday, September 29th for this deep (virtual) dive into innovative tools and practices to grow nutritious food, build healthy soils, and fight climate change.

During this 2-hour virtual workshop, Cedar Circle’s Director of Agriculture Nic Cook will join us to share video footage of the farm’s innovative no-till practices and diverse cover crops. Cedar Circle Farm grows certified organic vegetables and fruit on 48 acres, and boasts a busy year-round farm stand, a thriving education program, and a strong commitment to environmental practices. The farm has been certified organic by Vermont Organic Farmerssince 2003 and is committed to being a leader in organic, regenerative practices and making innovative contributions to the greater food and farming movement.

Nic and NOFA-VT Policy Director Maddie Kempner will also share an update on Vermont’s efforts to establish payments for ecosystem services, and other creative policy approaches to building healthy soils, protecting biodiversity, and recognizing the role of organic farms and farmers in combating the climate crisis.
