Businesses for Climate Action Day
VBSR, Ben & Jerry’s, Seventh Generation, SunCommon, and VPIRG have partnered to deliver a powerful message to Vermont legislators in support of bold climate action. Join us for a day of activities in Montpelier, with something for everyone in your organization!
Climate change affects not just our planet, but its people – including disproportionate effects on low-income, global-majority, and other marginalized communities – as well as our individual and collective economic prosperity. The future of our climate is the future of our economy. If you want to make a difference, bringing your voice to the Statehouse is one of the most impactful things you can do.
CEOs will kick off the day with a press conference on the Capitol Steps followed by meetings with legislators. CEOs across Vermont are welcome to learn more and RSVP here. Add your voice to the call for action by joining one or more of these events!
Climate Town Hall with House and Senate Leadership
12:30 PM – 1:45 PM | The Auditorium in the Pavilion Office Building, 109 State St, Montpelier
Join us for a forum connecting employees of Vermont businesses with their legislators to discuss what bold climate action looks like in Vermont, including:
- Adopting an equitable and accountable Affordable Heating Act;
- Updating the Renewable Energy Standard to achieve 100% renewable energy and ensure development of significantly more new renewables; and
- Investing in clean transportation and mobility solutions, environmental justice, and other critical climate initiatives.
A panel of legislators representing house and senate leadership will share the latest on the top climate bills this session and address questions from the audience. Bring your questions!
Postcards for the Planet Party
1:45 PM – 2:15 PM | The Auditorium in the Pavilion Office Building, 109 State St, Montpelier
Write a postcard to your legislators asking for bold climate action! VBSR will provide all materials and support. Postcards will be delivered to Statehouse mailboxes following the event.
Networking at Three Penny Taproom
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Three Penny Taproom, 108 Main St, Montpelier
Connect with VBSR staff, policymakers, and business leaders to network and learn from one another! Our generous hosts will provide finger foods and a cash bar. Celebrate our efforts to advance bold climate action in the Statehouse and find solidarity with others seeking change!
Additionally, Three Penny Taproom will donate 5% of their sales on March 16th to VBSR’s Expanding Our Movement Fund! This generous support will help ensure VBSR continues to push the boundaries of what business can be, fostering radical change in workplaces, communities, institutions, and culture – in Vermont and beyond.
