You already know that shouting doesn’t work.

In fact, most people avoid confrontation. But putting your head in the sand won’t make your organization more effective. Plus, you get sand everywhere. It’s uncomfortable.

Join leaders from a cross-section of organizations in an engaging, effective workshop. You’ll build your muscle on how to address difficult conversations. And you’ll witness different styles of how colleagues face conflict. (No, you’re not alone.)

This workshop is designed to enable participants to:

  • Understand the importance of addressing difficult conversations
  • Distinguish between unpleasant and difficult conversations
  • Identify their own fears / reluctance to having these conversations
  • Learn a framework for how to meet with their colleagues productively, while minimizing the opportunities for hostilities

Plus, I’ll offer some readings/resources for people who want more.

Who: Ideal for CEOs, Executive Directors, board members, and other senior leaders.

Where: The workshop will be held at Hula, which is a wonderful co-working space in the South end of Burlington, VT. If you haven’t been there yet, you’re in for a treat (I dare you not to say “oh wow!” when you walk in.)

Safety first: masks and proof of vaccination *required* for all participants and the instructor (you may bring your vaccination card, or have a photo of it on your phone). If you are unable to be vaccinated, you may attend with proof of a negative PCR test for Covid-19 that is dated November 12, 2021 or later. Rapid antigen tests or notes from your mother will not be accepted.

Refund policy: full refund up to 7 calendar days before the workshop. After that, you may gift your ticket to a colleague. Then they’ll totally owe you one.

Limited spots: maximum of 20 participants.

VBSR members receive a discount of 10% when they register before November 10.

About the instructor:

We often learn best by doing.

With that philosophy, Jason Lorber, president of Aplomb Consulting LLC, conducts content-packed, energizing workshops at national, statewide, and company conferences. All of his workshops are highly interactive, including role-playing, brainstorming, and experiential learning. Jason mixes his experience in business (Stanford MBA), politics (served four terms in the Vermont Legislature), and stand-up comedy (opened for Joan Rivers).

Your staff and board members will leave with a new set of skills, and more energy than they started with.
